Art League members, accompanied by artist Thomas Lucas, visited Purdue’s Fountain Gallery, “60 Square Inches XIX” print exhibition and learned about printmaking. Liz Erlewine, Purdue curator, led the tour.

Art League and Symphony Guild members enjoyed lunch and program about the Celery Bog during the annual Joint Meeting at the Celery Bog on November 14th, 2017.

Art League members visited with Kimlien Tran in her Lafayette gallery and studio...KLGallery.

Buffy Rogers, Art League President is presenting Art League award to Kaitlyn Schnebly for her painting “Solitudes Corpse” at the Artist’s Own Show for young artists.

Art League members traveled to Columbus, IN and toured the IMA Miller House and grounds.   In addition, lunch and ice cream in a restored ice cream parlor were enjoyed by all.

Heart of Art  (Above and right)  Many of the Art League members who attended Heart of Art for the Art Museum gather for a photo.  Thanks to generous donors at the event, $4.250 was donated for the Art League Endowment.

Art Museum of Greater Lafayette Becky Brody, local artist, enjoyed AMGL opening hosted by the Art League.

50th Anniversary:  Sheila Klinker, a member of the Art League,  presented Art League with Proclamation from the State of IN in recognition of its fifty years.  Pictured are:  Sue Carr, Linda Sorensen, Sheila Klinker, Josette Rolley  (Sue and Josette are co-chairs for the 50th Anniversary Celebration).

Tea to honor Mary Sixbey: Artist Mary Sixbey who had exhibit in the Shook Room in the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette was honored with a tea in home of Art League member Joan Sozen.

Receptions: The Art League provides receptions for opening exhibitions in the Art Museums. On the left, guests and artists enjoying food during opening reception. More reception pictures

Joint Meeting: The annual Joint meeting of the Art League and Symphony guild was hosted by the Art League in the Haan Mansion Museum. Guests were given tours by Bob and Ellie Haan, enjoyed food and tea, and listened to the Lafayette Flute Choir.

Holiday Tea Art League members enjoy the annual Holiday Tea, complete with scones.

Bling on a Budget Sale: After the Holiday Tea, members of the Art League and the general public choose from hundreds of gently used jewelry, scarves, and evening bags at bargain prices. Proceeds benefit the Scholarship Fund.

Acquisition: The Art League purchases art works for the Art Museum’s permanent collection. Stephanie Funcheon introduces the 2014 purchase, Wagons of Posey County, by Kathryn Clark.

Fashion Show Models: Members of the community model at the annual Art League Fashion Show in the spring.

Hat Collage: Some of the many colorful hats worn at the annual Art League Fashion Show, which is attended by both Art League members and the public.

Field Trip: For one of the Art League’s field trips, members attended a tour of Twinrocker Handmade Paper in Brookston.

Art League members made a major purchase for the Art Museum in honor of the League's 50th anniversary. Portrait of Irving Wiles by Wayman Elbridge Adams (1883-1959).Oil on canvas, 50 x 40 inches, purchased by the Art League in 2014 for the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette. Stephanie Funcheon presents a check to Jim Ross of Ross and Eckert Gallery. Wayman Adams, born in Muncie, Indiana, was a noted portraitist who first exhibited in Indianapolis. He painted Presidents Herbert Hoover, Warren Harding, and Calvin Coolidge, as well as B.F. Goodrich, Bobby Jones, and Booth Tarkington. He usually completed the portraits in one sitting. Irving Wiles was also a painter of portraits.

Pottery Class: Art League members enjoy a variety of special classes at the Art Museum.
